Our Brand Story
The Fox in Felpham stands proudly at the heart of the village, a place where stories are shared, friendships are made, and memories are cherished. Its roots run deep, named after H.M The Fox, a Revenue Cutter ship that once patrolled the south coast to ensure pirates paid their dues. The Fox’s walls hold whispers of the past, from tales of smugglers’ tunnels connecting the pub to The Rectory and the Church, to the inspiration it offered William Blake, who penned parts of Milton and Jerusalem while living just across the road.
The Fox was also home to the artist George Morland, who painted a ship leaving Chichester Harbour on a wall of the original Fox Inn in lieu of rent arrears.
But The Fox’s true legacy is far more than its history; it’s the people who make it what it is today. Under Charlie’s ownership, The Fox is the beating heart of Felpham, a place where everyone feels welcome. It’s where locals gather for familiar faces, families come together for Sunday roasts, and visitors discover a warm community spirit that keeps them coming back.
The Fox is more than just a pub; it’s a place where stories continue to unfold, where moments of joy, comfort, and connection are at the core of everything they do. It’s a place to belong, Felpham’s home away from home.
